A Fife paedophile who got a 13-year-old schoolgirl pregnant is back behind bars after breaching a court order.

Charles Black failed to tell his supervising officer that he was in contact with his victim’s mother between September 6 and November 4 in 2018.

The 48-year-old also deleted text messages and call records between him and the woman in a bid to hide his tracks at an address in Dick Crescent, Burntisland.

The court was told that Black was contacted by his victim’s mother who wanted answers as to why he had got her young daughter pregnant in 2010, days after her 13th birthday.

He was made subject to a sexual offences prevention order in May 2018 which ordered him to report any contact with female friends or acquaintances.

The alarm was raised by Black’s victim who was concerned her mother had been in contact with the sex offender.

Depute fiscal Sarah Lumsden said: “At about 1.40pm on November 6, 2018, the police and social work attended at the accused’s home address.

“The accused answered the door and allowed access into his property.

“The accused was given the opportunity to advise the officers of anything he should report in terms of his SOPO and he stated there wasn’t.

“As part of his SOPO, an inspection of the accused’s mobile telephone was carried out.

“The accused was asked if he had deleted any data from his phone and he voluntary admitted that he deleted messages from the woman.

“As a result of this the accused’s black Sony mobile was seized and examined.

“The phone contained a number of messages, that had been deleted, between the accused and the woman in which they discussed meeting up.

“On November 26, DC Daglish made contact with the woman via telephone. She advised that she did not wish to engage with the police.

“She thereafter disclosed that she had been in contact with the accused. She stated that it was her that made the first contact with him.

“She stated she was looking for answers as to why the accused had done what he did to her daughter, as per his previous conviction.

“She stated that she never had face to face contact with the accused and was no longer in contact with him.”

Defence solicitor Dewar Spence said: “There is not much I can really say in relation to the offences.

“He was contacted by the girl’s mother who wanted to know why it was her daughter and Mr Black had ended up having a child.

“As time went on, Mr Black realised that he wasn’t meant to be in contact with the lady and so was deleting the various messages.”

Sheriff Grant McCulloch jailed Black for 16 months which will be back dated to November 28 when he was remanded in custody.

Black was previously jailed for three years and nine months for unlawful sex with an older child, which happened in the Levenmouth area.
