A woman says she is “gutted” after her car was stolen from a Dundee street.

Emily Taylor, 20, has been left without a way of getting to and from work after the blue Seat Ibiza was taken from Campbell Street.

The car, which has the registration number SV18 OOY, is thought to have been taken overnight from Sunday into Monday.

Emily, who works for Scotkart, said: “It’s not a great feeling because it’s such a new car. I’ve only had it for a year.

“It’s probably the most expensive thing I own. I’m very worried about it.

“I’m quite scared too because it means that somebody else has been in my car, which belongs to me.

“I’m the type of person that gives their car a name. I get very attached.

Emily hopes her car can be returned.

“I’m really hoping that it just turns up parked on the side of the road, but I know that it’s most likely in a ditch or torched somewhere.

“My main hope just now is that I’ve got a black box which tracks it, but I don’t know where it is yet because only the insurance company can check that.

“I’m waiting for them to phone back.”

‘It’s a total gutter’

Emily is also worried that losing the car will take away her independence.

She added: “It’s embarrassing. I’m having to ask people for lifts and think about getting buses, which I haven’t had to do for years.

“I was so excited to have this car too. I was showing it off to everyone I know.

“I’m just pretty gutted really. It’s a total gutter.”

A police spokesperson said: “Officers were made aware of the theft of a vehicle on Campbell Street, Dundee, at around 10.15am on Monday.

“Inquiries are ongoing.”
