A 25-year-old man has appeared in court in connection with a robbery in Dunfermline on Wednesday.
The incident occurred at the Scotmid Cooperative in East Baldridge Drive at around 3pm.
Staff were unhurt but a man outside the shop was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Aaron Donald, of the town, was charged with assault and robbery.
He appeared in private on petition in Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Donald made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
He was committed for further examination.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Officers are following a positive line of enquiry in relation to a second man suspected to be involved.
“Reassurance patrols will continue to be carried out in the area over the coming days.”
An appeal has been issued for anyone who was in the area at the time or who may be able to help the police investigation to contact Dunfermline CID on 101 or Crimestoppers.
