Fire services tackle blaze at Glenrothes home

A house in Glenrothes has been left damaged after a blaze broke out in the back garden.

The SFRS were called to School Drive in the Fife town at around 2.40pm on Saturday.

A spokesperson for the fire service said the blaze began in the garden and spread to the house.

Locals in the area reported seeing a lot of smoke in the street.

One eye witness said: “There’s quite a bit of damage to the back of the house.

“It looks like the roof has melted slightly and a trampoline in the garden looks as though it’s been destroyed.

“There’s two fire engines in the street and the pavement in front of the house has been blocked off.”

A SFRS spokesperson said: “We were in attendance at a fire on School Drive in Glenrothes.

“We got the call at 2.38pm and had two appliances in attendance

“It was a fire in the rear garden but it did affect the house.

“We left the scene at 7.30pm.”
