Mobile phone data has revealed a new timeline of a Fife dad’s disappearance from a Perthshire campsite.

Reece Rodger was last seen after going fishing and camping with friends near Loch Rannoch on March 18.

Despite a possible sighting around the time of his disappearance, and another the following day, no trace of the 28-year-old has been found.

Reece’s partner, Paula Airzee, shared new information on Saturday morning which could suggest that the father-of-two left the campsite earlier than initially thought.

In a Facebook group set up to support the search, she posted that Reece’s mobile phone indicates he was an hour east of the campsite at 11.20pm.

Paula said the new data confirms it was Reece that was spotted on the B846 at 11.30pm.

‘Reece left the campsite a lot earlier’

She said: “There are a few developments from the police I wanted to share.

“Further analysis has been undertaken of Reece’s phone and I can now confirm Reece was 1 hour and 20 minutes east of the campsite at 11.20pm on March 18.

“The phone signal was in the vicinity of where the potential sighting was, so I can also now confirm it was Reece seen at 11.30pm on March 18.

“This means Reece left the campsite a lot earlier than initially advised.”

Whilst extensive searches have been conducted in the weeks since his disappearance, there have been no new sightings.

The family confirmed the area east towards the Loch Rannoch Hotel continues to be the main focus of the search.

Paula believes motorists travelling along the B846 – during the last known sighting of Reece – are also “crucial”.

‘We are unsure if Reece made it out of this area’

She added: “There are no sightings of Reece on any CCTV from either of the two hotels in the area.

“Reece’s phone was off before he was seen at 11.30pm, he had no headlight, therefore he’s walked for at least 10 mins with no light.

“The witnesses who saw Reece at this time offered assistance but he had disappeared from view.

“We are unsure if Reece made it out of this area.

“Reece has no light and there is little glare from the loch, he may have injured himself and or become disoriented.

“This is why it’s really important the cars that pass on this road (B846) after 11.30pm on March 18 are so crucial.

“We need to know if they passed this precise location and if they seen anyone walking or not.

“Shoreline and water searches are now our main focus areas, east towards the Loch Rannoch Hotel and beyond out to the Dam.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact 101, quoting reference number 1348 of Sunday March 19.
