Man arrested in connection with water tank fire

A man has been arrested in connection with a fire at a water tank on Dundee’s dockyards on Thursday evening.

A police spokesperson confirmed a male had been arrested and will appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday in connection with a fire which tore through a storm water tank on Camperdown dock.

Flames and smoke from the inferno, which raged for more than an hour and a half, could be seen from Broughty Ferry and Fife.

A total of 18 firefighters tackled the blaze, and no one was injured as a result of the incident.
