A Crieff father has requested that the public be on the lookout for his son’s favourite teddy bear after losing it in Perth city centre.
David Dowse’s 4-year-old boy Joe misplaced his teddy (affectionately known as ‘Bear Bear’) during a routine shopping visit at the weekend (Friday, November 18), somewhere between the car park at Bell’s Sports Centre and Clarks shoe shop on the High Street.
“It’s very dear to him; he’s had it since he was born,” says Mr Dowse. “His auntie bought it for him and he’s developed a bit of an attachment to it. It’s his favourite.”
Bear Bear is described as “a Small Sleep-Well Steiff bear with blue and white checked PJs.”
“Joe remembers putting him in his sister’s buggy as we were walking from the car to the shops as bear wanted his feet measured. We got home before we realised teddy was gone, checked the usual places and started turning things over, but it just hasn’t appeared. It’s hard enough to keep an eye on children, let alone toys.”
“You know what it’s like when you’ve got two kids in tow – it can be quite hectic. I was concentrating on traffic, so didn’t notice.”
“We’ve tried the Lost Teddy website, Bell’s, Black Watch Museum, Clarks, Perth Council and Perth Police to see if he’s been handed in but to no avail. I even worked out how to send a tweet.”
“It was the Perth Christmas lights switch-on that weekend so they had a big do. It would have been absolutely heaving so I just hope it hasn’t been swept up or lost in the crowd. Kids find things, too.”
