Two men have been charged for throwing plastic eyeballs at a Dunfermline Athletic player in early January.
The items were launched at midfielder Dean Shiels during a match between The Pars and Falkirk on Tuesday, January 2.
The footballer lost sight in one of his eyes during a domestic accident when he was just eight-years-old.
Two men, age 20 and 21, have now been charged under the Offensive Behaviour at Football and Threatening Communications (Scotland) Act.
They are being reported to the Procurator Fiscal, however police investigations are continuing.
Inspector Ian Flynn from Dunfermline Police Station said: “This incident was extremely offensive and such behaviour will not be tolerated.
“While two people have now been charged, we are looking to trace others who may have been involved and would ask those with information to contact Dunfermline Police Station via 101 and quote incident number 3022 of January 4.”
Dunfermline won the Championship clash 2-0 at East End Park.
The incident came just a few months after Falkirk players Joe McKee and Kevin O’Hara were suspended after being found guilty of taunting the midfielder about his disability during a Challenge Cup game in October.
