Broughty Ferry bar The Fisherman’s Tavern has been a haven filled with beer lovers and the local community this weekend as its popular beer festival made its return.

The Fisherman’s Beer Festival is a much-loved event and is taking place for the 21st time this weekend until Sunday afternoon.

Organised by the team at the bar on Fort Street, the three-day festival raises vital funds for the Broughty Ferry Lifeboat Station which is run by a volunteer crew and is part of the Royal National Lifeboat Intuition.

Running from noon to 10pm each day, organisers have said the event is free for all to attend, however, those entering the premises after £5 will be asked to pay £5 towards the charitable cause.

The local community have been enjoying the beer garden area which has a variety of pop-ups running throughout the event period. As well as a barbecue for attendees to purchase hot food from, punters have been enjoying the gin and prosecco bars and have been working their way through the various beers on offer.

Currently there is between 20 to 22 cask ales, lager, craft beer and cider available for around £4 to £5 per pint.

For the event the Broughty Ferry Lifeboat Station volunteers take over the bar and they have been spotted behind the bar pulling pints already and have been serving up drinks to those who have attended the event over the past two days.

Visitors can also expect live music from multiple local bands who have also given up their time free of charge to play at this year’s festival. Eight acts and bands will perform by the end of the celebrations.

Our photographer Steve MacDougall was there to capture the event
