Dundee and Fife’s ports are set to enjoy their busiest cruise season yet.

A bumper year of cruise ship traffic is expected at both Dundee and Rosyth in 2024 as liners travel to and from destinations across Europe.

Dundee will welcome 16 cruise visits in 2024 – up from 14 in 2023.

A total of 27 cruises will dock in Rosyth, a drop of one from last year, but it still represents an overall rise in cruise traffic between the two locations, which are both run by Forth Ports.

Destinations for ships this year include Iceland, Norway, Germany and Spain, as well as a range of towns and cities across the UK.

The cruises are running between April and November.

While most of the trips are open for normal holidaymakers, some have been chartered by private groups.

Among the luxury liners coming to Dundee is the 700ft cruise ship Ambition – which docked in the city for the first time last year.

2024 ‘busiest cruise season yet’ for Dundee and Rosyth

“We are seeing cruise holidays increase in popularity in Scotland each year and ports like Dundee and Rosyth offer the perfect regional location for people who can depart from here and cruise directly to many brilliant destinations across the UK and around the popular ports across Europe.
