An Arbroath man has appeared in Dundee Sheriff Court accused of carrying out an armed robbery at a newsagent.
Dale Crookshank, 29, allegedly took an axe or similar implement to Sam’s Store, Ponderlaw Street, Arbroath on July 18 and robbed a shop worker of £85, three pouches of tobacco and a bottle of alcohol.
Crookshank, of Leonard Street, Arbroath, appeared on petition before Sheriff Tom Hughes and made no plea. He was granted bail on standard conditions.
He also faces a charge of having a Tomahawk axe or similar implement in his possession at the time.
The case was continued for further examination.
