Two woman have been charged after a robbery near Perth bus station.
Locals reported a “commotion” in the area around Leonard Street and St Andrew Street shortly after 2.20pm on Tuesday, with a large emergency service presence.
Police confirmed at the time officers had been dealing with a report of a robbery.
In an update on Wednesday, a spokesperson for the force said: “Around 1.40pm on Tuesday, police received a report of the robbery of a 26-year-old woman on St Andrew Street in Perth.
“Two women, aged 35 and 46, have been charged in connection with the incident and are due to appear at Perth Sheriff Court on Thursday.”
A witness who was in the area at the time of the incident described seeing a number of police cars.
He said: “We were just going past and saw this big commotion at the bus station.
“There was a large police presence and we saw a few cars and a van.
“It seemed like a big thing with that many police. I hope whoever was involved is OK.”
