A man has been charged after three people – including a nine-year-old girl – were hurt in a seven-car smash in Milnathort.
Emergency services were called to South Street, near New Road, in the Kinross-shire town just after 6pm on November 2.
One vehicle landed on its roof while Stirling Road, at the roundabout at New Road, was closed and the pavement remains cordoned off.
Road traffic offences
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Around 6.15pm on Wednesday, November 2, police were called to a report of a crash involving seven cars on South Street near New Road, Milnathort.
“A 47-year-old man, a nine-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man were taken to Ninewells Hospital.
“A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
One couple who live next to the scene praised the locals who rushed to help those injured.
The husband, who didn’t wish to be named, said: “I was working when I heard the loud bang and my wife and I rushed out to see what happened.”
His wife added: “Luckily there was a doctor who was nearby so he was able to tend to those in the other car quickly.
“We live in such a quiet village where nothing happens but it was really heartwarming to see so many people doing what they could to help.”
Stagecoach bus cancelled
Stagecoach was forced to cancel its X56 service due to the crash.
The bus company tweeted to say one of its buses got stuck in traffic in the area following the incident with no alternative route.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a car crash on New road in Milnathort. We had three appliances in attendance.”
