Raith Rovers accept bid from Dunfermline for defender Euan Murray as three new arrivals sign on at Stark’s

Raith Rovers have been dealt a big blow with defender Euan Murray set to leave the club to join Fife neighbours Dunfermline.

The 25-year-old had been on the radar of a number of clubs but the Pars have won the race for his signature.

Rovers last night agreed to accept a five-figure sum for the player and Murray could sign for Dunfermline as early as today.

The versatile defender is understood to have told Raith he wanted to leave after the club failed to win promotion to the Championship last season.

He had a year left on his deal but could have signed a pre-contract in January and left Stark’s Park for nothing.

Murray, who played 47 times for John McGlynn’s side last season, may not be the only Raith player heading for East End Park with the Pars heavily linked with a move for Rover’s top scorer Kevin Nisbet.

However, there was better news for Raith fans today as the club announced three new signings at Stark’s Park in the shape of Grant Anderson, Joao Victoria and Brad Spencer.

Anderson had a previous four-year spell with Rovers before departing for Queen of the South in 2016.

Since then the winger has played for Peterhead and then spent last season at Stranraer, appearing 38 times.

Anderson has signed a one-year deal with Rovers as has Victoria.

The 30-year-old started last season with Airdrie before joining Anderson at Stranraer.

The Portuguese is known for his versatility but is set to fill a left midfield role with the Kirkcaldy club.

Midfielder Spencer started last season at Dumbarton before signing for Forfar in January.

The 23-year-old started off in the academy of Houston Dynamos in the USA where his father (former Rangers, Chelsea, Everton and Scotland striker John) played and coached.

He then signed for Kilmarnock in 2017 before joining the Sons at the start of last season.

Spencer has also signed a one-year deal with Raith.
