Santa came calling in Fife this weekend as Christmas lights were turned on across the region.

Father Christmas gave youngsters a cheery wave as he arrived at Kirkcaldy’s Mercat Centre in his sleigh.

Children were delighted to catch a glimpse as he travelled along the High Street before entering the shopping centre for the lights switch-on.

There, he was joined by local band The Probematix.

And they enjoyed a festive sing-song before he took up residence in his grotto outside Boots.

Christmas also came to Cupar on Saturday.

Santa and his elves spoke to children at his magical grotto in the Youth Cafe.

And a DJ and funfair rides were set up in the town centre.

An all-day Christmas market added to the atmosphere before the town was lit up when the lights went on at 6pm.

Our photographer Kim Cessford was there to capture some of the fun.
