Motorists travelling on the M90 between Perth and Bridge of Earn were forced to wait in lengthy queues after a vehicle overturned on the southbound carriageway.
The incident happened at around 5.15pm on Monday evening and involved a silver Mazda pick-up truck which appears to have struck the central reservation before flipping over.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said the driver suffered only minor injuries and was checked over by paramedics at the scene.
However, due to the time and location of the accident, around a mile before junction nine, huge queues built up in both directions before the vehicle was able to be recovered.
Drivers were reporting queues of more than a mile. although these were expected to ease as the night wore on.
