Around 800 runners pounded the streets as Kirkcaldy Parks Half Marathon got under way on Sunday.

The popular event started and finished at the town’s Beveridge park and took in some of Kirkcaldy’s most famous landmarks.

Runners were taken up Oriel Road and along Chapel Level to Dunnikier Park.

And they continued down to the seafront to include Ravenscraig Park and Dysart.

It was the second Kirkcaldy half marathon since the event was relaunched in 2019.

The race used to be an annual fixture in the town but was discontinued in 1992.

This year, it included a 10k trail race on Saturday.

Our photographer Steven Brown was there to catch some of Sunday’s runners in action.
