St Andrews Big Hoolie: 19 pictures as Fife celebrates with fireworks and torchlit parade

Scotland’s national day went with a bang as a spectacular fireworks display topped off this year’s St Andrews Big Hoolie.

Hundreds of people gathered in the Fife town to celebrate St Andrew’s Day in style.

Community groups, students and visitors got together for a huge outdoor ceilidh.

South Street was closed to traffic as the Kilrymont Ceilidh Band led dancers during two hours of fun.

It was followed by a torchlit parade, led by Madras Pipes and Drums, through the town centre from South Street to the Bruce Embankment .

And the huge fireworks display over the West Sands brought the event to an impressive climax.

The Big Hoolie has been an annual tradition in St Andrews since 2017 and is always popular.
